Ender 3 rear box for SKR1.3
thingiverse
I've decided to build my own rear enclosure for my Ender3 to house an SKR 1.3 because the stock box with its makeshift fan mounting wasn't efficient enough and was too loud. I also wanted to add Octoprint and organize my buck converters, which were haphazardly modified in different ways. To minimize plastic usage, the bottom of the enclosure isn't fully covered. This enclosure is designed for Bigtreetech SKR1.3 boards and allows installation of two smaller buck converters plus one larger buck converter. It also accommodates an Orange Pi zero and a Noctua 40mm cooling fan to cool TMC2208 drivers, which tend to get hot during longer prints and can cause step skipping. Since my E3 has been plagued by intermittent issues with reading from USB sticks or SD cards due to the Makerbase TFT25 display, I've opted for Octoprint instead. Current version v1.0 has a few issues: * Component mounting holes need to be punched through all the way to the bottom. * Box width is fixed, but rails are missing from the Thingiverse collection (hopefully, I'll add them soon). The enclosure was printed on an Artillery X1 with a 300x300 bed without supports.
