Ender 3 Raspberry Pi 3 Case Switch Version
thingiverse
Hello, I was looking for a Raspberry Pi case to mount on my Ender 3 profiles and stumbled upon the thing from 0711nimajneB (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3454663). I had some switches lying around from my mechanical keyboard so I decided to use them. The switches are designed to hold a 3mm LED. The button is connected to the Raspberry Pi. When you press it, the Raspberry Pi shuts down and when you press it again, the Raspberry Pi turns back on. The LED serves as a status indicator to check if the Pi is on or off. Here's what you need for this project: - Switch: I used a Gateron Black, but any Cherry switch should work too since they're made to fit any keyboard PCB (check this before!). - 3mm LED: I used a White 3.3V LED and a 220ohm resistor and the light is bright enough for me. - 4x GPIO Jumpercables - Stuff for soldering Optional: - A stiffer spring for the switch: Since keyboard switches are designed for typing, the force to press the switch is pretty small. I used a spring from a ballpen and shortened it to the right length. - Keycap: The switch works fine without a keycap, but you can use any type of keycap you like. The tutorials I used for this project are: - Powerbutton: https://howchoo.com/g/mwnlytk3zmm/how-to-add-a-power-button-to-your-raspberry-pi - LED: https://howchoo.com/g/ytzjyzy4m2e/build-a-simple-raspberry-pi-led-power-status-indicator
