Ender 3 Raspberry Pi 3 and Relay PSU Case for Octoprint
thingiverse
This custom PSU case for the Ender 3 replaces the stock case and adds a spot to mount a 3v relay, and a separate attached enclosure to mount a Raspberry Pi 3. The enclosure has a lid that slides on and off easily to access the PI. In addition, there are openings for all ports on the PI, and the SD Card can be accessed without removing the lid. There's also a hole in the front to view the LEDs of the PI. *Note: This is designed for the stock PSU on the original Ender 3, not the slimmer Mean Well PSU on the Ender 3 Pro.* **Printing** This is designed to be printed without supports. See the photo of the completed print for the correct orientation if it's not obvious. I had better luck printing the lid with a brim due to the long skinny parts. ![print](https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/d3/74/bc/df/b4/featured_preview_IMG_20200629_123439.jpg) **Additional Parts Needed** The goal was to be able to turn the PSU on and off remotely with the [PSU Control] plugin for OctoPrint. However, I still wanted to be able to bypass this relay and turn the printer on directly if needed. So I replaced the stock SPST switch with this [SPDT rocker switch]. One position routes power directly to the PSU, the other through the relay. I used this [Yongneer 3v] relay modules off Amazon since the GPIO pins on the PI are 3v - [1 x SPDT Rocker switch] - [1 x 3v Relay Module] - 1 x Raspberry Pi 3 - 4 x M2*6 Screws (Relay) - 4 x M3*6 Screws (Raspberry Pi) - 16 awg wire & crimp connectors
