NEW VERSION FINISHED, USE INSTEAD!!!(8/12/2023) as noted below there can be kinking and binding issues with this design if using it on larger printers, version 2 eliminates this issue with the inclusion of a bearing and will be linked here----> https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6167092 <--- when prototyping is finished. version two will mount to the printer and filament sensor the same way as the original though there will be three different parts and some fitting or super glue may be needed I could not find a nice compact mount for my direct drive converted Ender 3 Max so I worked this up. the mount attaches to the top 20mm aluminum extrusion with T-nuts and requires four M3 nuts to secure the filament runout sensor to the mount. initial install will seem like a tight squeeze but space is allotted for the nuts between mount and aluminum extrusion. WARNING I HAVE NOTICED ON MY ENDER 3 MAX THAT WHILE PRINTING AN ITEM THAT UTILIZES THE FULL ZED AXIS THAT SOME FILAMENT BINDING MAY OCCUR, i have not tested on my ender 3 pro as it is not currently setup for direct drive.
