I 3D printed this with PLA but can be done with PETG or even ABS. The top position of this LED strip holder should never be warmed and I'll reprint it if deformation occurs over time. This is suitable for 30 LEDs, but you can easily adjust it using Tinkercad or any other CAD software. I'm using a WS2812B LED Strip connected to a NodeMCU (ESP8266 Web Server) Arduino board. This board connects to my OctoPrint server and thus returns different light statuses depending on the states of the printer. It polls the OctoPrint REST API periodically via a HTTP GET request. There are some delays between the real state of the printer and the LED display due to the simple polling approach. Faster polling results in lower delay but also increases the load on the ESP and on the WiFi or network in general (on OctoPrint too). Security Warning: This sketch sends unencrypted GET requests with the OctoPrint API key in cleartext through your network, although this isn't a significant security risk if your OctoPrint is not visible to the internet. Description: The color of the lamp shows you the status as follows: -Fade yellow: booting/connecting -Rainbow cycle: Printer is ready -False white light: blue to red -Printer is heating the bed, showing every 5°C from 30-60°C -Blue to green: Printer is printing, showing progress in 25% -False white light: Fade blue -Print is paused -Fade red: Error occurred -Flashing white: HTTP Code Unauthorized -Fade green: HTTP Code Conflict It will also output small information on the serial line.
