Another adjustment for the extruder motor's control, this one enables rapid filament loading or unloading with a smaller, speed-up knob. Some designs include an entry point in the primary knob where the smaller knob can fit snugly and rotate without obstruction. To secure the small knob in place once inserted, a soldering iron or hot iron is used to create a raised edge at the base, effectively locking it into position and allowing for smooth rotation.
