Ender 3 Pro Front Cellphone Webcam Mount
cults3d
I discovered the free and pretty good MobileWebCam android app that runs on all android devices going back to 1.5 and thought, why not build a mount and use this with an otherwise worthless old cellphone to keep an eye on my prints with OctoPrint. None of the mounts that I found here attach to the frame, and I do not want to mount anything to the bed on this because keeping it level is enough of a headache as it is with the stock springs. So I hit Tinkercad and made my own. It's working great, and is quite stable despite the minimal materials and tension from the too-close screws involved. 3 different models are offered, depending on where the power slot is on the bottom of your phone from the viewpoint of you holding the phone upright in your hand. This slot may require you to trim a little plastic/rubber from your USB power adapter in some cases to fit firmly. *** Update *** While this worked well enough, I was concerned about the Y-axis tension being reduced, so I added a design that should slide right into the rail from beneath and have adequate holding power. Prototype works fine, so I recommend that instead. Same requirement of supports etc. Updated again 8/21 with residual holes removed and reinforcement triangles extended all the way back.
