Ender 3/Pro/CR10 Extruder Stepper Knob Remix
thingiverse
I designed this modification to incorporate one of the brass grubs used on the Ender 3 series extruder stepper shaft after I discovered I could remove the printed D hole. This allows for effortless filament insertion into the extruder and all the way through the bowden tube to the nozzle. I shaped a point on the filament and simply inserted it while turning the knob, eliminating the need for extruder arm pinching as a rule. It's also beneficial for priming filament through a hot nozzle. Following printing of the knob, I use a hot soldering tip to push the grub into the knob hole. The heat causes the splines to cut into the hole walls, making glue unnecessary. I print with a skirt at 205/60 for PLA.
