This replacement part enhances the original metal cube that holds the heat sink fan and part cooling fan, utilizing the same fans and screws. It offers several improvements over the original part: - The heat sink airflow is fully directed to the top, ensuring no air flows onto the heat block or printed part, which significantly improves ABS printing and results in stronger parts. - Noise reduction: the heat sink fan is suspended by thin flexible joints to minimize vibration transmission. - Enhanced visibility on the printed part is achieved (when not using the part cooling fan duct). - A built-in pen holder accommodates diameters between 6 and 12mm, utilizing an additional 40mm m3 screw and nut to secure the pen. The part fan duct clips onto the fan mount and is easily removable for improved visibility when cooling is not used (and to prevent melting during ABS printing). Although hot end cooling efficiency is slightly reduced, the time constant for "cooldown" increases by only 25%. This reduction can be attributed in part to not blowing directly on the heat block.
