Ender 3 Plexi Enclosure System (or any other printer :) )
thingiverse
Hey! I'd like to share my enclosure system for the Creality Ender 3 with you. The size of the enclosure depends solely on your plexi dimensions, making it suitable for both larger and smaller printers. I've optimized the corners for a tighter fit, but be aware that a small amount of glue will still be necessary. The handles come in two versions: with or without magnets, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs. The magnetic version has slots designed for maximum magnet dimensions (you can use these or smaller ones): * 10x4mm - circle * 30x10x10mm - rectangle There are many parts involved, but I've already created all the mirrors, so you won't have to worry about mirroring them yourself in the slicer. Those small circles aren't essential; you can secure them to a table using hot glue or tape and lock your enclosure into place. This will prevent it from moving around on the table, but it'll still be possible to detach it with the handle (if you choose to print one). Before printing everything, please test-print one element first to ensure it's not too tight or loose. Most of these prints don't require supports, but a few do (hinges and upper back corners). The supports will cover a small surface area, so it's not a significant issue. The hinges work well, but depending on your printer settings and filament, you may need to spend three minutes sanding them lightly. I used instant glue for mounting the handles and corners, and it holds perfectly (I've tried PLA and 3mm plexiglass). Remember that your plexi will require small cuts at each corner - this is because of the bridges I included inside the connectors. These bridges are necessary for a solid construction, and you can make them with a sharp knife or Dremel. Be sure to look out for these bridges before assembling the enclosure.
