Ender 3 Playstation Eye Mount Remix
thingiverse
I've been using an old Playstation Eye as the camera for our Ender 3 for a while, but hadn't found a mounting system I liked well enough (and hanging it off of the top rail wasn't working so well with tall prints). This remix uses the mounting cup from tatersalad1999's design (which itself is modified from smyers29, which appears to be a remix from something else...) and the arm attachment socket from rudis1261's design, and is intended for use with one of the arms from the rudis1261 design. The pieces were cut apart in Tinkercad to reduce the need for supports and are intended to be glued together with your adhesive of choice. Instructions: - Print 1 each of Socket.stl and Cup.stl, along with your choice of arm from rudis1261's PS Eye mount. I used the Arm-Long variant to get a little extra height. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4151509) - Glue the "Socket" piece to the bottom of the "Cup" piece in your preferred orientation (since the PS Eye can rotate 360°, it hardly matters). - Using the built-in screws on your Ender 3's main board casing, mount the Arm piece to your printer. - Sit the Socket-Cup on the Arm. Add glue if desired, but I didn't find the need to. - Aim your camera at your build plate. - Profit. Notes: I printed everything at 20% infill with PLA, and haven't had any issues. If you suspect your parts will get knocked into or pulled on, you might want to use more infill (and glue down the Socket-Cap to the Arm).
