ender 3 pi camera and led strip mount with ribbon cable attachment
thingiverse
I created another remix of this one, allowing me to add LED strips seamlessly. To achieve this, I designed and printed a new LED strip holder that mounts on the X gantry, but it posed an issue - it blinded the camera and washed out the picture. So, I aimed to create a light source originating from the same direction as the camera. Additionally, I encountered a calibration-related problem where the front was dropping off the camera holder, so I added another point for an M3x6 screw to secure that in place. The top and bottom LED holders attach using M3x10 screws. To accommodate various types of LEDs, I created two versions of each holder: shorter ones for standard white LEDs, which can be cut to 50mm lengths, and longer ones for RGBW LEDs, which can be cut at 100mm. I soldered all the connections on the RGBW LEDs to the negative terminal and attached the positive terminals to the power source. I also wired them in parallel since I used a buck converter to drop the voltage from 24V to 12V. It's possible to wire the top and bottom holders in series and connect them directly to the 24V supply, but I opted not to do so. Furthermore, I adjusted the position of the ribbon cable attachment as it was interfering with the bottom LED strip holder. The new version of this part is included in this remix. To ensure strength, I printed all parts at 100% infill, which proved necessary after testing - when removing support pieces from a print made with only 20% infill, the connectors snapped off.
