Ender 3 Mechanical Bed Leveling Probe Mount
thingiverse
This is an upgraded mount for the Ender 3 mechanical bed leveling sensor, marking my first post here. Feedback on improvements is more than welcome. A remix of two other projects available online: FreeABL - the extremely affordable (free) ABL for Ender 3" by stevohen: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3468254 and Promega Z Probe Redesign" by supinemonkey https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3027224 It utilizes the Z-axis Endstop switch and mounts it as a bed leveling sensor next to the extruder head. The switch is attached to a slide with 3 magnets in it so that it can easily move up and down but will stay put during bed leveling and homing operations. See the FreeABL post by stevohen for modifications to Marlin to make this work as well as additional Cura settings. Thanks to him for making that info available, without which I would never have gotten this whole thing working. Thanks to supinemonkey for creating the Z-slider upgrade for the Promega, which made this remix super easy to put together. You can find my design files on TinkerCad at this link: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/kPpjH4DVGou To assemble this project, you will need: 3 x magnets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BNDJ8Q4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 2 x M2 screws 8mm long 2 x M2 nuts a screw to hold the cover plate on (whatever fits is fine) A pair of needle nose pliers to bend the pins on the Z-board and some push pin cables, I used these from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EV70C78/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
