Ender 3 max direct extruder design finalized
thingiverse
so i tried the original on my ender 3 max...nope not gonna fit, but i liked the design as it keeps if done right almost 100 percent of useable space. so several remix and reremixes later after multiple failures for a bunch of picky issues i present this version as drop in ready with stock parts, as long as you can extend your extruder wires and replace 2 short screws with 2 long screws. if you look carefully i have located a couple of 1.5mm guide holes should you feel that the 2 screws are insuficent. all that said i am going to fiddle with this design a bit more as i'm still not 100% happy.... feel free to modify it as you see fit. revised it a bit more to my liking....been using the 1st version...... suggest you make the final version as it is much more stable. next up will be to modify it to accept the bowden tube as a feeder tube which will make filament easier to manage and will also allow me to relieve the strain from the filament from the print head and redistribute it to the frame where the stepper was originally i am done with revisions.... this when printed in carbon reinforced abs exceeds the gantry stiffness for the y axis.... this was printed at 40% infill gyroid style and 5 walls top bottom and sides. i have deleted the earlier versions and hope anyone who printed one of them isnt too miffed with the results.. the 1st was too floppy,,, the second needed a corner clipped to allow y travel limit switch to be activated. the final and now only is SOLID as a rock and allows full function with stock parts used to complete it. the only damaged part is the bowden tube....and that is due to shortening... hope you all like it
