Ender 3 - Low Profile Feet
prusaprinters

I could not find any low profile squash ball foot designs for my printer, so I created this one. It works with any 40mm extruded aluminum frame, and adds only10mm to the printer height. It's amazing how much quieter this makes things!

Updates:

2019-03-03 - Angled the edge of the base to match the top angle and reduce filament use.

Also, check out these other mods that dramatically reduce the sound of your Ender 3

X-Axis Stepper Damper

Y-Axis Stepper Damper

Z-Axis Stepper Damper

Enjoy the silence...

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

40%

Notes:

It would be a good idea to use a wall thickness of 1.2-1.6 to ensure 3-4 walls are used and the print is strong enough... Infill could probably be less than 40%

To create the dual color effect, I simply paused the print and changed the filament from Red to Black.

Post-Printing

Squash Balls

Please note, there are different types of squash balls.

This design requires40mm diameter balls.

There are also different levels of softness.

The softer, the less vibration and sound will pass through to your table.

*Orange - Softest *Double Yellow - Softer (I'm using these) *Yellow - Soft *Green - Hard *Red - Harder *Blue - Hardest

Remove built in supports

*The back feet can simply slide in into the frame, and optionally locked into place from underneath with one or two M38mm screws.**

The front feet are lock into place by simply reusing the existing front plate screws.

Category: 3D Printer Parts
