This is two remixes in one. I remixed Holspeed's guide roller so that it partially opens on one side. This allows you to remove or install the filament into the guide without having to pull the filament out of the nozzle, but still secure it under normal operation. Now if you forget to feed the filament through the roller first (which I have done a few times), you don't have to pull it all out and start again. The High Bracket design is the Gray and White model in the photos. To insert or remove the filament from the roller, just slip the filament between the teeth of the roller and slowly spin the roller. It's easy once you do it a couple of times. I will try to post a small video in the future. Anyways, the real reason I started this remix was to be able to mount my filament spool on the shelf below my printer, in the Lack enclosure I am building (in progress). The Filament will be coming from below the X Axis, but this design may also be beneficial to people who have their filament on rollers beside the printer. This Lower guide roller model is the Orange and Gray one in the photos. When I was done modeling it up the Low Bracket design I thought it would be a great idea to improve the Original design to incorporate my design changes. I don't expect many people to need this Low Bracket design, which is why I mention the second design first. You will need: 608 Bearing, M4 bolt 15mm or longer. I designed this to use a flat head (see the Orange roller) or regular head bolt. One Retainer.stl, One Roller.stl. Either the Low Bracket.stl OR the High Bracket.stl. Do not print both. Most people will require the High Bracket design. Be sure to rotate the stl so the largest flat is on the build plate and no supports will be required. I am still learning Fusion 360, and have not figured out how to rotate the STL exports different than the drawing origin. The clearances are very small, so depending on your printer, you may need to sand down any interference between the roller and the bracket, but I did not have to. If you have trouble installing the bearing, I recommend my bearing press. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3337288 If you like my design, let me know in the comments or even better post a Make. Thanks.
