Ender 3 Ikea SAMLA Enclosure
thingiverse
Hello Everyone, I'd like to share my concept for an affordable and straightforward Ender 3 enclosure based on Ikea SAMLA boxes. As evident from the image, an Ender 3 printer fits snugly inside the largest SAMLA box with about half an inch of space around it. Another box could serve as a front door once you've printed some hinges. The nice aspect of these boxes is that they're transparent and should have identical dimensions worldwide. This idea is still under development, and since I didn't have time to purchase another box, I'm not 100% certain the printer will fit entirely, as Ikea only provides outer dimensions on their homepage. I'll continue working on this enclosure, but since I'm short on time, please feel free to take the lead and keep me updated. Here's version 0.1 so far: 1 pc SAMLA box 78x56x43 cm/130 l. Partnumber: 901.029.71 I removed one of the tears that serves as a handle for the box, providing a flat surface to place your printer on. Place the box on a table and the printer inside it, just like in the picture. To-do list for future versions: Purchase 1 pc SAMLA box 78x56x18 cm/55 l. Partnumber: 001.301.29 Check if there's enough space for the bed to move (it will be a tight fit). Design: feet, air ducts, hinges, etc... Enjoy some DIY. Cheers Yeti
