Ender 3 hot end cover spacer for Noctua 40x20
thingiverse
I wanted to replace the stock hot end fan with a quiet one. The Noctua NF-A4x20 is a great replacement but unfortunately doesn't fit in the original setup. So, instead of blowing this thing out of proportion, I decided to print a simple spacer that gives the Noctua a little room inside the cover without touching the heater block. I used the Ender 3 model found on Github to design this piece. Measured the rough distance necessary so that the new fan stays a few millimeters away from the heating block. The interior walls of the spacer are at an angle in an attempt to direct the air into the heatsink. You'll need longer M3 screws to cover the new distance. M3x12 will be enough. The Noctua NF-A4x20 is one of the quietest fans I've found. The A4x10 is not enough for this purpose, but the A4x20 does the job pretty well. Feedback is much appreciated!
