Ender 3 Front Drawer
thingiverse
I was looking for a robust front drawer for my Creality Ender 3 and saw a cool design for the Ender 3 Pro: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3162464. I decided to make a remix of that part and tried to print it with the dimensions for the Ender 3. However, I didn’t like very much the result because of the support marks. Then I came up with a solution that doesn’t require any supports, by dividing the geometry into 2: main body and flap. I applied a little bit of tolerancing to guarantee the fit and to get the correct diameters of the holes for the screws. I chose to use 2 M3x8 Pan Head Cross Screws. In the current design, the maximum length of the holes in the main body is a bit higher, thus M3x10 should fit as well… Notice the following aspects: • The current dimensions of this model have in consideration the cable clips mounted, on the Printer, behind the drawer! • Follow the assembly procedure below! Assembly procedure: 1. Unscrew and detach the screen module; 2. Mount the main body (“Part1”) of the drawer (it is necessary to give it a little push); 3. Once the lateral flap of the main body is contained in the profile where the screen module is mounted: Pick the flap part of the model (“Part2”) and align it with the 20x40 profile slot; 4. Align the holes and screw the parts together. Once that is done, only reassemble your screen module and you’re good to go for the next print or upgrade! ;)
