Ender 3 Frame plug for Teaching Tech Control Box
thingiverse
I must note that this upgrade won't work with the Ender 3 pro. I recently swapped out my SKR Mini E3 32-bit control board from BigTreeTech for Teaching Tech's well-designed all-in-one universal electronics case, and I'm thrilled with the results. However, I was not a fan of the empty notch in the extrusion frame where the wires to the original front-mounted box used to be. To fill this notch, I designed a simple solution that can be easily slipped into place and held with a few dabs of cynoacrylate glue. This plug also provides a cable route for the Z-axis home switch wire, making it perfect for those who haven't yet invested in an ABL system. As a bonus, this design has reduced the noise caused by airflow through TT's case by directing air only through the vents on the underside, rather than through the large opening in the frame. Initially, I designed it as a simple extrusion-shaped shell with no upper face, but this proved to be prone to snapping when removing supports for the cable channel. To address this issue, I revised my design to include a thicker body with curved faces for added strength. In Rev1, I squared off the corners to match the shape of the frame extrusion fitted to the machine. For Rev2, I made additional tweaks to more closely match the Ender 3 frame extrusion.
