Ender 3 Foam Backboard Bracket
thingiverse
I am using OctoPrint to control and timelapse my 3D printing adventures. I wanted to be able to include some information, such as filament used and what is being printed, in the timelapses themselves, and give them a consistent backdrop. To do this, I designed a system to hold up a piece of foam board in a couple simple brackets behind the printer. In addition to the brackets here, you will need (at minimum): - A piece of foam board (I used Elmer's brand) - 4 M3 x 8 screws - 4 T-Nuts, or 4 M3 nuts and nut-captures for 20x20 slot (I have some I made for the Ender 3 here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3046440) ## Printing Instructions You will need to print 2 brackets, using the slicing software to mirror one of them to get a matching pair. ## Tweaks/Additions For my back-board, I wanted to be able to easily switch out a display of the filament used, and repeatably write what is being printed. - For filament display, I made a series of card-stock strips and wrote a filament on each. I then stuck velcro circles on the back of each, and a pair on the foam board. - For displaying the printing item, I got some dry-erase board tape (it's a thing, and it's awesome) and put a couple strips on the foam board. ## Notes STEP and IGES files are provided in the download. Model can also be exported from Onshape in a variety of formats for alteration/remix (note, a free account is needed to access it): https://cad.onshape.com/documents/d5cf12a4bce1f7b2ec449484/w/5ecdf7504c4eac66ee6a8ba0/e/137af8a79afc42c99278fa01
