Ender 3 Filament Spool Holder Adapter
thingiverse
I was really disappointed with how the filament spool rocked back and forth because its center of gravity was lower than the stock holder on my Ender 3, so I had to come up with a solution. The problem was that I couldn't find an adapter that would fit my printer's stock holder perfectly. That's when I decided to remix a design for a CR-10 adapter and make some adjustments. I changed the inner diameter to match my needs, cut it into two pieces so it could fit snugly on the holder without falling off, and added four holes on each side. After printing, I joined the parts together using two toothpicks and was thrilled to see that the spool no longer rocked back and forth. It turned smoothly now. However, it wasn't long before I realized that Creality had made some changes to their spool holder design in newer versions of the Ender 3, so this adapter is only necessary for the earlier model without a nut on the free side of the holder spindle. I recently uploaded an updated version of the holder to make use of the full length of my Ender's spindle.
