Ender 3 Filament Runout Sensor Mount
thingiverse
I was on the hunt for a reliable filament runout sensor to upgrade my Ender 3, but the ones I found wouldn't fit snugly onto my microswitch. Rather than letting that setback stop me, I decided to merge two different models together to create something that would work seamlessly with my setup. Although I didn't put in the hard work of designing these sensors from scratch, I did manage to cobble together a functional solution by copying and pasting existing designs - and it's been working great so far. My trusty microswitch is sourced from eBay, specifically this listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3PIN-Tact-Switch-KW11-3Z-5A-250V-Microswitch-Buckle-JL024-DIY/152437859602?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=451744107606&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 The dimensions of this custom-made filament runout sensor are 20x6.2x19.5. To assemble it, you'll need three M2 bolts that are at least 15mm long, along with the corresponding nuts. Additionally, feel free to add some PTFE tubing to either end for extra durability and a smoother performance.
