Ender 3 filament runout sensor
thingiverse
To add a microswitch and wires to your Raspberry with Octoprint and the Filament runout reloaded plugin, you'll need a few simple components. The switch I used is a microswitch-mini-spdt-on-on-with-roller from Grobotronics, available at grobotronics.com. You will need support for printing this component. The lid slips in easily due to friction, so no screws are required. This design also serves as a filament guide, adding an extra benefit to the overall setup. I have since revised the case to sit off the frame and align more closely with the extruder, providing improved functionality and aesthetic appeal.
