Ender 3 Filament Roller Guide, Fully 3D Printable - No Additional Hardware Required
thingiverse
This remix of the filament guide by Holspeed has been modified to eliminate the need for additional hardware such as bearings or bolt and nut. It utilizes a 3D printed pin with a press-on cap that directly fits the wheel without spacers, providing a simplified design. I have also made minor adjustments, including thickening the wheel to ensure it fits snugly within the fork without requiring spacers. To minimize the Ender 3 footprint, you can position your spool holder at the far left of your top crossbar (refer to photos at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4055309). This configuration allows for a direct and unobstructed filament path to the wheel guide. No additional components are required in this setup. The STL file has been optimized to print all four parts simultaneously. I printed it using PLA with a layer precision of 0.16 mm, resulting in a precise fit on my Ender 3 Pro. The hole through the forks for the pin has been carefully sized to provide a tight fit without requiring support material. If you can achieve perfectly round vertical holes, you may find that the pin is slightly loose. I have also shared my Sketchup file, as Holspeed generously provided his design files to facilitate modifications. I encourage users who print this guide to leave a comment and share their experience with how it turned out.
