Ender 3 Filament Guides & Z Axis Bearing Stabilizer (Remix with upper and lower rollers, 3 in 1 design)
thingiverse
This is a "matching" set of rollers for top and bottom rollers on Ender 3. This uses pins, the only hardware needed is 3x 608 bearings (bottom roller, top roller, and z axis support). These use the great designs below as a starting point with minor modification listed further below. Upper roller and z axis support: This is a remix from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3556252 Lower roller/filament guide and concept of pin design: This is a remix from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3184816 (There is also a version here that does not require the 608 bearings for the filament guides) My modifications: 1. Modification to bottom roller guide to minimize the bearings ability to slide along the pin. The inner race of the bearing is "clamped" by the mounting bracket. 2. Redesigned the barbs on the pin to make it a tighter fit but still removable. 3. Addition of bearing/roller to upper filament guide. This uses the same roller an pin design as the lower roller/guide. 4. Reduced the diameter of the pin head to to fit under the upper support. You will need: 1 x Notched Lower Filament Guide 1 x Roller Filament Upper Guide with Z-Axis Stabilizer 2 x 17mm Pin Enlarged Barb 2 x Filament Guide Rollers 3 x 608 Bearings (Purchased, I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XP53FG3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , you can also visit the second link above for thing:3184816 that has a roller design that works with my pin without a need for bearings, you will still need bearing for the top unless you want to run without one. This is still basically unsupported but the ring of the upper guide will still keep it captive without the bearing.) You will need to remove/loosen the screws (all 4, The 2 on the left need to be removed, the 2 on the right you can just loosen) from the upper extruded aluminum support on your printer to install the upper guide and z axis support. The lower support will slide on.
