Ender 3 Filament Guide with Idler Pulley and Snap Ring
thingiverse
This is an updated version of FlintWeiss' Ender 3 excellent filament guide design. To prevent the groove from forming due to abrasion, I added a shaft, idler pulley, and snap ring to keep the pulley securely in place. Along with the addition of the pulley, I included a recess on the base to fit over the shoulder of the Z screw collar. It's recommended that you put a small rubber band or O-ring on the pulley to create some friction between the pulley and the filament. If the filament simply slips past the pulley, it will wear down just like the stationary guide. I happened to have a size 009 O-ring available, which worked well as shown in the YouTube video. At first, there may be some minor wear on the pulley, resulting in some dust. It seems to be minimal. One option would be to use a very small amount of household 3-in-1 oil on the shaft if you want to minimize the wear.
