Ender 3 Filament Guide Wheel (Remix)

TF ThingiVerse? ThingiVerse is rotating my photos and downscaling them alot, they were already 500kb and previous uploads did not look like this. The save and view option is taking much longer than normal and spitting back errors. Not sure what conflict is occurring photo upload wise but that's the reason for the sideways photos. WHY? The two models I remixed were fantastic in their own right and I couldn't make this without their help so make sure to drop them some kudos too if you like this. When I used these two remixed model in tandem, I noticed the top guide would cause extra drag on my amazon basics tpu so I wanted to make a smoother top guide arm with an aggressive look. UPDATES: 1/29/2022 Remodeled a few different aspects for this v3. The right-hand reach has been extended even further to better line up with the middle of the spool. I also made the model with the rail mount built into the filament arm for a single, sturdier piece. Fitting into the rail system is still tight. You can and really should sand the tabs down if you want to print at a lower infill, I heated the tabs and press fit them into the railing however I printed at 100% infill, YMMV. You will want supports with the rail mount and guide arm AIO but make sure you use support blocker everywhere but on the railing system or you will have a fun time trying to dig it out of the slots in the arm like you'll see in my photo. For all other models, no supports are needed. Future Updates: I will try trimming down the rail mounting system for better print and use. 1/24/22 Printed the v1 today and it worked pretty great but fitting the arm in the rack mount was difficult and required a few minutes of sanding, the right-hand angle was not enough for the filament to line up well. Made a v2, shrunk arm cutout by .5mm to make fit easier. shrunk pin by about 3% in x/y and stretched length by about .5mm I also shifted the actual wheel mount about 10mm right and re-cut the parts to look clean. Still tight in the frame mount and required sanding but less sanding required than v1. The angle is much better and runs in a clean loop. Used in tandem with the filament wheel at the bottom, it is quite beautiful to see all the wheels move together with the extruder. Photos added. You'll notice the mount looks bent; it is. After sanding I like to heat my plastic with butane hand torches to get the black shine back. Pressing the arm mount into the frame mount while it was hot resulted in the warping you see. 1/22/22 Original guide arm 3d model uploaded but not yet printed. Will print soon. Files List: ----------V3 Model---------- E3FGArm&RailAIO-PLAv3.stl - this is all the parts including the wheel to be printed all at the same time in the same filament. E3FGArm&RailAIO-NoWheelV3.stl - this is all the parts EXCEPT the wheel, this is if you want to print the wheel in a different color or type of filament, I choose TPU for my wheel. E3FGArm&RailMountSingleV3.stl - this is just arm itself for printing in a different color. E3FGAWheelHairPinsV3.stl - this is for printing the hairpins that lock the wheel into the arm in a different color. ----------V2 Model---------- FilamentGuidePartsPLA.stl - the parts are separated from the wheel so that the wheel can be printed in TPU. This fitting to the rail system will require sanding and so will the guide arm that mounts into it. FilamentGuideAIO.stl - this is all the files, including wheel to be printed at once. ----------V1 Deprecated---------- These files have been removed since they resulted in overhangs not intended in the orginal model.
