All I did was move the guide part a little closer to the lead screw, which reduced the space between them just enough to prevent any filament contact with the lead screw. The filament won't actually rub against the guide or touch the lead screw, even if the feeding becomes erratic. I corrected my STL file by removing the author's original design and only keeping my modified version intact.
