Ender 3 Filament Guide Block
thingiverse
I designed this filament guide block without using a top-rail type due to extremely limited space around my printer. In addition to guiding the filament, it also prevents the filament from touching the Z-axis leadscrew and makes loading filament significantly easier. The block fits perfectly on top of the Z-axis leadscrew guide plate, allowing the use of existing screws and split washers without any issues. I printed this with the 'filament exit face' facing downwards, and it turned out to be a very nice print. UPDATE: I've modified the design to work seamlessly with a 0.4mm nozzle without creating a hole in the Z-screw side wall, making it compatible with both stock and alloy extruders. Here are photos of the block printed using PETG+ and a 0.4mm nozzle. Unfortunately, the print quality is not great because I haven't had time to fine-tune my CURA profile yet. 03-22-19 Modified internal blend to simplify filament loading and increase the strength of this part.
