Ender 3 Fan Mod - Airflow Optimization
thingiverse
This is a modified version of the fan duct mod from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2814127. The original part doesn't fit well to new Ender-3 revisions with silicon sock on nozzle, causing two major issues. Firstly, it touches the silicon sock and melts there due to being made from ABS and printed with ABS. Secondly, the mount holes are too small in width, making it difficult to install. This modified version has a shorter duct that addresses these problems. The silicon sock on the Ender-3 nozzle provides excellent heat isolation, which means the normal fan duct heats up excessively. Air inside gets heated quickly, resulting in ineffective cooling. By shortening the duct, this modified version reduces the heating effect from the silicon sock, allowing air to exit the duct at a cooler temperature. This leads to reduced pressure of air hitting the print, but it's still better than the stock setup. I've also conducted a water test for air flow and observed that the air hits almost directly below the nozzle.
