Please ignore the print quality on the wire holder; I had over-tightened my extruder after moving it, but the problem has since been fixed, and I left it in as an example of what bad extruder tension looks like. This mount relocates the extruder and motor from hanging on the Z axis to sitting on top of the PSU. While I'm not sure if this modification offers any actual benefits, my motivations were clear: * To reduce X-axis weight, thereby eliminating stress on the Z motor * To keep filament next to the extruder with a straight, unobstructed path * In theory, this setup would minimize dust from the filament rubbing against parts and prevent potential dust from dirtying the Z rod Testing has confirmed that this mount works well with the aluminum extruder, and it should also fit stock just fine. Initial results suggest that relocating the extruder corrected an issue I was experiencing with the Z axis skipping steps. However, there's no guarantee that this modification will resolve the problem for everyone.
