Ender 3 Extruder Cover
thingiverse
I designed an extruder cover for my Ender 3 to conceal the red aluminum extruder since all other parts of my 3D printer are blue and it didn't match. The cover also includes a mount to secure the hotend wire harness, ensuring everything remains organized and out of sight. A hole is located at the top with sufficient clearance to accommodate your preferred stepper motor knob. I made sure to maintain the extruder lever arm's functionality while allowing for some clearance in the moving parts. This ensures there's still room to use whatever filament guide you prefer. To print, I recommend using supports and enabling Ironing. For installation, start by removing the bowden tube coupler from the extruder. Next, insert the lever arm through the square hole on the cover and snap it into place with moderate pressure. Finally, reinstall the bowden tube coupler, which is held in place by the coupler and lever arm.
