Ender 3 External Electronics Case V2 - Creality mainboard
thingiverse
# Work in progress - Never printed yet ! This is a remix of [MrClown's V2 case](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4501568) to accomodate a Creality mainboards. It should accomodate any of them (v1.1.2, v4.2.7, you name it). ### Caveats * There is no external access to the SDCard slot and USB socket on the mainboard. This is intentional as I don't use them. * Stepper heat sinks are usually in the incorrect direction (at least on my 3 creality MBs they are), fins should be parallel to the air flow. You can try to rotate them using IPA, or just live with it. Given the airflow in the original creality case design, it will probably not be an issue anyway. ### Remixed parts * Remixed case top to remove holes for the SKR board USB socket and SDCard slot. * Remixed fan duct to better fit the mainboard and adapter plate ### Added parts * Adapter plate that fits mounting posts for the SKR V1.3 and has posts to mount any Creality mainboard. Mainboard position is shifted to move stepper drivers under the fan duct. * (TODO) KCD11 plugs for people who don't need switches (or only need one) ### Printing instructions For top and duct, follow [the same instructions as in the original](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4501568). Top will need a bit less support as the USB and SD holes, which required supports, were removed. Print all other parts from [the original case](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4501568). Adapter plate should probably be printed with 100% infill. ### Assembly Follow the instructions for [the original case](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4501568). You will need 4 or 5 more M2.5x4 screws to attach the mainboard to the support plate (you can reuse those used to attach to the original Creality casing). ### TODO * Print it and check everything * Create KCD11 optional switch plugs to close holes when not needed
