These mods are based on the model from Coillote here on thingiverse. Model is available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3044639. I decided to create my own take on these mods, given their abundance online. The rods visible in the design are half-inch threaded rod; any threading will work fine. Bracing rods are secured with M4 screws or set screws. Holes measure 3.5mm to provide sufficient plastic for threads, necessitating longer bolts where bracing attaches to the frame. A bearing from McMaster, model #5972K91, is used in the mockup; it features a 22mm OD, 7mm width, and an 8mm shaft for the z-axis lead screw. M4 screws are employed on the bearing hold-down plate to secure the bearing in place. Since I don't currently own a 3D printer, this project is marked as work-in-progress; it will be completed once I acquire an Ender 3/pro and finish implementing other fixes I discover. If you have valuable ideas to contribute, feel free to remix this design.
