Ender 3 Dual-Fan Motherboard Cover
thingiverse
Introduction: ========== This dual-fan motherboard cover for the Creality Ender 3 features two 12v fans wired in series as shown in the third picture. The purpose of this part is to silence the Ender 3's loud motherboard fan while minimizing cooling changes. The cover also protects the motherboard from falling debris. Wiring: ====== To wire two fans in series, connect the positive end of one fan to the negative end of the next one. This leaves a positive lead and a negative lead that can be connected to the motherboard like normal. Ideally, attach a small capacitor (~100 nF) across the leads of one fan to prevent electrical interference between them. However, this is not crucial in practice. The design includes holes for mounting protoboard pieces for neat wiring, but these are optional and have also been included without them. How to Print: ========== This print requires rigidity more than strength, so use a low-density infill of 20-30%. Printing with more density may waste plastic. The design is optimized for the stock Ender 3 and has been tested on mine. If you encounter any issues, please let me know. The only catch is that if your hot end lacks better cooling, print this part with a low-temp filament like PLA. The first layer may be too large to print with ABS, and clogging the nozzle is easy.
