I initially wanted to make a slight modification to the SpeedDrive v1 - Ender 3 direct drive mount by sashalex007.\r\n\r\nThe goal was to make it lighter and get back the full length of the X axis, as the original design limits it somewhat.\r\nUnfortunately, the pancake stepper I used is not strong enough and kept skipping steps, even with increased current settings.\r\n\r\nInstead, I ordered a 1/3 geared extruder to overcome this issue. This meant a total redesign of the mount, but after a couple of tries, I managed to align everything properly. So far, it's printing fine, but the stepper gets a bit hot when printing at 100mm/s. Probably need to fiddle around with the current settings a bit :)\r\n\r\nParts used:\r\nhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Redrex-Assembled-Extruder-Upgrading-Printers/dp/B07L9JJ7XJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Redrex+Assembled+Upgrading+Extruder+kits+with+NEMA+17+Stepper+Motor+for+I3+Mega+3D+Printer&qid=1581533561&sr=8-1 (comes with its own stepper, but there's also a version without it)\r\n\r\n13ncm Nema 17 2-Phase 4-Wire 1.8 Deg Stepper Motor, for example:\r\nhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Usongshine-Titanium-Extruder-Printing-17HS4023/dp/B07L8CGQMB/ref=sr_1_1?crid=22TBO7OLSBKS1&keywords=nema%2B17%2Bpancake&qid=1581534007&sprefix=nema17%2Bpancake%2Caps%2C188&sr=8-1&th=1\r\n\r\nDual fan mount:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3886952\r\n\r\nHotend cooling duct:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2612897
