Ender 3 direct drive extruder
thingiverse
This is a straightforward conversion to a direct drive extruder on Ender 3. It features a holder for a stepper motor and a dual filament feeder. For reference, see the link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33037642453.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.50c14c4do6GNa9. To complete this setup, you must also adjust extruder steps to E142.7. To achieve better temperature resistance for the stepper motor, I used ABS material. Initially, I printed the entire assembly with supports, but it resulted in significant deformation and inaccuracies due to lack of a heated box. Therefore, I divided the holder into individual parts that can be easily printed without support structures. If you have access to a heated box, it's recommended to print the assembly as one piece. I assembled the parts using acetone. Following curing, I submerged the entire holder in acetone for complete hardening and an even surface finish. The outcome is a sturdy yet lightweight construction. Update: On February 9, 2020, I added a D10x1 countersink to the M5 screw for use on the original guide wheels. This modification creates more space for the screw head. New components are categorized under "V2".
