Ender 3 Direct Drive compatible Neoteck Digital Dial Indicator Side Mount
thingiverse
Having converted my Ender 3 to a direct drive unit, I was trying to work out a way to mount a Neoteck DTI digital dial indicator to the extruder to improve the bed tramming (leveling) process. This is the design that I settled on (for now) which keeps the probe in the same plane as the nozzle in the Y-axis. This is a great start to mount up an indicator, but could use a minor re-working. I am already working on another version which will move the indicator in the negative Y-direction, closer to the extruder. The critical dimensions are highlighted with red in the design parameters "spreadsheet" in FreeCAD. All values can be edited. Non-printed parts required:

Neoteck DTI Digital Dial Indicator Probe 0.0005''/0.01mm

1 x 3x20mm bolt

1 x 3mm nut

1 x 5mmx10m bolt

1 x 5mm nut

The design was done in FreeCAD and as mentioned it is fully parametric. I have included the FreeCAD file so that you can modify the design to your heart's content. I am open to any suggestions as to how to improve the design work-flow in FreeCAD.
