Ender 3/CR10 Stock Switch Filament Sensor - remix
thingiverse
I decided to breathe new life into the old Z switch. I discovered Sausage-Gravy and Bacculas' version of this filament sensor to be an excellent foundation, but I found some minor imperfections that I wanted to address. My revised design features a cutout beneath the board, allowing it to mount flush against the rest of the device without resting on the solder joints. Additionally, deeper screw holes were incorporated, as the original ones proved too short for my bolts and difficult to align properly. I also subtly adjusted the position of the filament tunnel, ensuring it's now aligned directly with the stock Ender 3 extruder. I highly recommend printing with supports and zero infill. Utilize the stock Z endstop button and your preferred cable to connect it to your octopi or printer mainboard. If available, cut up some spare PTFE tube and insert it into the holes on both sides; this will help guarantee the filament lies directly on the button. Update: I've uploaded my second iteration of this design. The screw holes are slightly smaller, allowing the bolts to thread more smoothly, and the filament path is now chamfered, making it easier to pass new filament through.
