Ender 3/CR-10 FANG Lateral Cooler Remix
thingiverse
In the revised FANG design, the top radial fan is positioned at an angle to the x axis. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that this configuration caused the stock cooler to emit distracting rattling noises during x axis movements due to the spinning blades vibrating along the shaft. For the remix, the original V3 mesh (*'V3-FANG-oz-fang_fixed_Netfabb.stl'*) was modified by cutting it apart in Fusion and rotating the top fan mount 90 degrees. Sliced and printed with Cura without encountering any issues. To achieve better stability during bed travel movements while printing, the duct was oriented along the y axis. Additionally, a brim was used to ensure good adhesion. For further details, please refer to the original project. **EDIT:** As numerous questions have been received regarding this topic; it is essential to note that only the main FANG part has been provided in this remix. To assemble the full design, you will also need to download and print the base plate (*'V2-FANG-oz-carriage-plate.stl'*) and a duct (i.e. *'V2-FANG-oz-40mm-duct.stl'*) from the [original project](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2763931/files). ### Related things - The fan cover shown in the photo is the [Aperture 40mm fan cover](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3504907). - A compatible [Snap-On Dial Indicator Mount](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3505229) for bed leveling was also designed.
