I settled on this design by napfkuchen after trying a few different options.\r\n\r\nInitially, I attempted to use the one designed for the stock Ender 3 extruder, but since I have the Creality Silver metal extruder, it didn't quite fit right. The original design had a bolt for adjusting spring tension that was hard to access due to its placement next to the cable clip hole.\r\n\r\nI also encountered an issue with the carriage wheels rubbing against the bracket, which required me to enlarge the clearance hole for the mounting screw from the cooling fans.\r\n\r\nThe creator of this design deserves credit for including a .step file, which allowed me to modify the bracket for better access to the adjustment bolt. I reinforced another side to maintain strength and ensure stability.\r\n\r\nI also trimmed around the carriage wheels so that you can tighten the wheel bolt without any rubbing issues. The clearance hole for the fan enclosure screw could be a bit bigger, but it seems sufficient.\r\n\r\nWhile working on this project, I decided to add a cable bracket as well. To drill out the 8mm holes for the wheel bushes, simply run the drill in reverse and you'll get clean holes.\r\n\r\nHow does it work? It works flawlessly - my first test was with faulty filament, so I thought things were going wrong and considered returning to the original Bowden setup. However, no firmware settings need to be changed; all offsets remain the same.\r\n\r\nWith a new roll of filament, stringing disappeared - I use 1mm retraction at 25mm/s, and my string tests come out spotless. I haven't noticed any ringing issues and run it at 65mm/s with no problems.
