Ender 3 Carriage Cable Chain Bracket

Ender 3 Carriage Cable Chain Bracket

thingiverse

This is a cable chain mounting bracket designed for use with the Ender 3 carriage, ensuring wires remain in place without chafing or movement. It secures to the carriage via two screws, providing stability through zip ties that keep wires rigid. Installation requires removal of the z-axis lead screw and three screws holding rollers on the carriage. Use two flat head 5mm or #10 screws, approximately 12mm or .5" long, along with corresponding locknuts or locktite for secure installation. Install the nearest screw to the stepper first while in a more accessible position, then rotate to its normal position for the second screw. Photos showcase a zip tie in place and top and bottom positions, allowing for easy counting of links if desired. During installation, several observations were made: the lead screw was not parallel to the rail, requiring adjustment of the nut. Additionally, the top gantry rail proved too short, causing rollers to detach from the rails when the carriage reached its highest point. This issue was resolved by loosening screws and pushing vertical rails apart before re-tightening for proper alignment.
