Ender 3 Cable Chain E-bracket mount with Filament Guide
thingiverse
I really liked the tidyness of yannicked's Cable Chain E-bracket Mount, but wanted reassurance that the filament would stay off the Z-rod. So I found the other two versions and printed Warsenius' mount, only to find out that the guide was way too far away from the Z-rod. This caused both friction (potential underextrusion) and made inserting new filament difficult. When you'd compress the extruder arm, it would angle the filament away from the coupler on the opposite end. This then was compounded by the extra distance the guide positioned the filament from the Z-rod. I decided to rework the unit, taking care to minimize separation from the Z-rod, less than 1mm (~.75mm) in my case, compared to roughly 3mm with Warsenius' version. The guide is a bit shorter as well because I use a side mount spool and didn't need extra height. If you run a top mount spool and need a longer guide, let me know, and I can reupload a longer version, but I think it's still tall enough to work as is.
