Ender 3 Cable Chain
thingiverse
This is a Z-axis, and Y-axis cable chain extension to fit with the chain links of thing 3715002. Everything is easily snapped on or slided together by dove tail mounts. No screws and no tools needed. This cable chains are mostly a remix of the following things: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2920060 -> top & side mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3095575 -> basic shape of the frame, the roller & the axis https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3715002 -> the chain links & clips I rebuild all pieces in FreeCAD, except the roller, its axis & the chain link clips, because I don't know how to import them properly with the possibility of reshaping them, or changing certain parts. On the chain links I shortened the flat part at the bottom by approx 0,5mm to make sure that the chain can lay out flat (at the original chain links the chain always bends up). On the top & side mounts of thing 2920060 I rebuild the chain link mounts to fit on the chain links of thing 3715002. Because I like it's shape better. The chain link mount of the table and the filament feed motor are designed entirely by myself. The table mount will replace the standard creality clip of the cable guide of the table. I think older ender printers don't have that cable guide. Check out the pictures. The feed motor mount, as every other mount, is designed to snap onto the axes of the z axis traverse, over the motor. there are two feed motor mount versions, one with the dove tail for the filament guide, and one without. The chain link mount as well as the filament guide mount are both slided together with a dove tail clip. No screws or tools needed. If you use the filament guide, make sure to slide on the cable chain mount first. Allthough the model of the axis for the roller is included I personally prefer not to print it, but to use a 4mm rod, aluminum, brass, steel, what ever you prefer, and glue it into place. For the Y-axis you will need 14 chain links & clips. For the Z-axis you will need 19 chain links & clips. Have fun with this thing. Like and share.
