As you can tell from the photos this is a work in progress. The parts themselves are done but the wiring and tubing fitting needs to be finished. PTFE tubing was temporarily installed to show how it is mounted. This adds a BTT smart filament sensor with PTFE tubing running from it to the hotend. The printed part on the original extruder mount for the Ender 3 ties the tubing together and also holds the wiring from the hot end. This was designed for a Direct Drive system that uses the original Ender 3 Filament and wiring design. The extruder replacement uses 2 PC4 x M10 connectors. and a short piece of PTFE tubing installed between them. Since this is in front of the extruder white PTFE tubing was used to lower friction. 4 M3X8 bolts and nuts were used to mount it to the printer. There are 3 wire tie points to secure the wiring in place. The BTT Smart Sensor mount uses the original M3 mounting bolts for the cover and 4 M3X8 bolts with M3 T-nuts to hold it to the bar. You can drill those out for larger bolts if desired. The 2 lower bolts may not be necessary, I noticed with another printer using one of these that movement affected it so I wanted it to be rigid. Another use for the extruder replacement piece could be for a Closed filament system. Feeding from the filament box to the Direct Drive system.
