Ender 3 Ball Bearing Filament Roller Easy Print + Source
thingiverse
Remix of HugoHuge and mjoaris's Filament Holders designed for easier printing, compatible with smaller spool diameters, and featuring a secure capture system that keeps the 608 bearings in place to prevent the roller from falling out. Best results are achieved when printed at an infill of above 20% and three or more perimeters/walls. Major support requirements have been minimized, aside from the threaded end and nut threads; tree supports or lines can be used for easy removal. A stress simulation was run on the part to verify its structural integrity after removing half of the holder material from the previous design. The results are shown in the photos. Feedback is welcome regarding any potential design changes that could improve effectiveness or resolve fitment issues. This remix was printed at 100% on a well-tuned printer, but further testing and refinement may be necessary. A fitment test for the roller plug has been created; print the "Filler Roller EZ Print Fitment Test," one each of the "Filler Roller Plug EZ Print" and 0.1-0.3mm undersized versions to determine which offers the best fitment. Alternatively, print the original file with additional supports. EDIT: Assistance is needed in reorienting the objects for optimal printing within Inventor; any insights on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
