Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro Fan Silencer Shrouds for PSU
thingiverse
These are fan silencer shrouds for the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro power supply fans that attach using original screws mounting the fan inside the power supply case. Embossed and debossed versions feature the Ender 3 logo or just the Ender 3 dragon, with separate designs for the Ender 3 and Ender 3 Pro with Meanwell PSU. The distance between screw holes is consistently 69.65 mm across all model variations. This seems like a perfect fit for the Ender 3 PSU, but you should scale up the model to 101.5% for the Ender 3 Pro PSU. **Important:** Never remove both screws at once or the fan will drop into the power supply case. 1. Remove one screw and attach the shroud with it. You may need to drill holes a bit larger, ensuring the screw fits through both holes before attaching the shroud. This can often be done by hand by twisting a 3/16" drill bit between your fingers. 2. Pivot the shroud out of the way and remove the second screw. 3. Pivot the shroud in place and secure it with the second screw. **Update:** Added V2 versions, which are 1.5 mm shorter to accommodate newer PSU models with shorter screws. I left the original versions, but there's no reason to use them unless you have a specific need for the older design. Pick one of the V2 versions to print unless you have a good reason not to. I also added designs for Meanwell power supplies where the shroud is mirrored on the Y-Axis, as well as V2 versions with no adornments for both PSUs. You could use an Ender 3 version with a Meanwell PSU, but it would blow down instead of back into the printer. The pictures show Ender 3 shrouds in yellow and Ender 3 Pro shrouds in purple. **Dual Colors with a Single Extruder:** The embossed versions can be printed in two colors using a single extruder by pausing the printer after completing the shroud part and swapping to a different filament spool for the logo. You could do something similar with debossed versions, but it wouldn't look as good. Most printers support the M600 G-code command, so you may be able to add pauses in your slicer program. If your printer doesn't support this command, you'll need to pause the print manually using the control panel after completing the shroud part. **Print Settings:** Note that the smoke coming out of the dragon's nostrils is only 0.27 mm wide in the logo versions, so if you're printing with a 0.4 mm nozzle, the smoke won't be printed unless you turn on thin walls in Cura or use an equivalent setting in other slicers. **How I Designed This:** This design is a remix of two remixes. I liked adding the logo to the Ender 3 PSU Fan Silencer Cover by Revolt64 and the Ender 3 Power supply fan silencer by Rohani_SousBois, but the surface looked whittled with a knife. So, I created another remix using a smooth shroud and the logo. Since both are remixes, I linked in the original model as one of the sources for this remix. I also added versions with just the Ender 3 dragon. I used FlashPrint to cut the logo from one model and saved it as an STL mesh. Then, I used Blender's boolean modifier on the shroud to make a difference (debossed) and a union (embossed) with the logo.
