Ender-3 Additional Sensors and Voltage/Current Monitoring

Ender-3 Additional Sensors and Voltage/Current Monitoring

thingiverse

This is a work-in-progress description to follow in greater detail.\r\n\r\nThis modification for the Ender-3 (and other similar 3D printers) enables real-time monitoring of voltage and current, power, and energy usage. It also permits the addition of extra sensors that will activate a 24-volt relay to remove power from the printer. This can be utilized for automatic power-off and even a filament runout sensor that works with the stock firmware! (since it triggers the resume-after-power-loss function)\r\n\r\n**Requirements:**\r\n* PZEM-031 Voltage/Current/Power/Energy Meter (can be found at banggood.com)\r\n* 24-volt relay for in-car use\r\n* Rotary on/off switch (I used one from "Hqrp")\r\n* LED and 1200 ohm dropping resistor (optional, but recommended when using the Hqrp switch)\r\n* Breadboard, some wires, and three 2-pin connectors with 2.54mm contact spacing\r\n* Closing micro switches\r\n* Hammer head nut + screw\r\n* Soldering skills
