Ender 3 3dFused Front Mounted Control Box
thingiverse
I recently built a front-mounted control box to accommodate all of my equipment and have finally completed and printed it, along with acquiring a volcano nozzle. The box features designated spots for the EZABL Pro box, Raspberry Pi 4, and SKR 1.3 board, as well as space for a 40 x 20 mm fan. I opted not to use the fan mount that came with the Pi after finishing the control box, choosing instead to rely on the 40mm fan's airflow to cool the heat sinks on the Pi. This decision will be reviewed in the future to determine if additional cooling is necessary. To ensure a proper fit for the control box, I printed four feet to elevate my Ender 3 printer to an optimal height. One issue arose during this process: the USB ports required the box to be deeper to accommodate all four of them. However, I chose not to make any modifications, as I only have one device connected to the printer and it has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. The Ethernet port's clearance has yet to be checked. I have decided against sharing images of my print, as I had previously created an outdated model that would have mounted a 40 mm fan in a suboptimal position. Additionally, the process involved shaving off ports to ensure proper USB connector connection, which was time-consuming and unnecessary.
